Part 1: Step by step guide
1: load DVD
You need make preparations at first: download, install and run Joboshare DVD Ripper Platinum. Then choose "Add DVD Folder..."/"Add IFO Files..." option from "File" drop-down list to load DVD. You can also load DVD by clicking "Open DVD"/"Open IFO files" button in the toolbar. After finish the above operations, the loaded DVD info will appear, including "Name", "Duration", "Chapters", "Target" and "Status" options.


Tip: How to get Disc information?
Two Methods:
1) Click "Get Disc Info" button in the toolbar.
2) Choose "Get Disc Info" option in the drop-down menu of "File".
You can read Disc information from new dialogue window, such as "Title Name" and "Chapter Name".

2: Set output format
Choose MKV video profile in "Class" and get converted MKV video files. Refer to the next steps:
1) Choose "Common Video" option from "Class".
2) Click "Profile" right drop-down button and choose "MKV - MKV Video Format(*.mkv)".


Tip: How to set parameters?
You can set suitable parameters for "Video" and "Audio". It aims at adjusting settings for output effect. So begin to learn the detailed operations as the following order:
1) Click any options you need to alter parameters and notice whether the down arrow mark will appear.
2) Press the down arrow mark to set parameters if it shows.


3: Extract files
This is the most important step for ripping video files. Because you are about to convert DVD to MKV video files. So remember next order:
First of all, click "Browse" button to set a destination for saving converted MKV video files. Secondly, choose the needed video files to extract. Thirdly, begin to rip by clicking "Start Ripping" button. So the ripping process will be seen under "Status" option in the file list.

Tip: How to halt conversion?
It will take you several minutes to wait for all the ripped MKV video files. When you prefer converting a part of video files, click "Stop ripping" or "Pause ripping" button to halt conversion.

Part 2: Clip video segments
Joboshare DVD Ripper Platinum has great function for clipping video segments. With the direction of the next steps, you will select the segments you like best from the source video.
1) Select a chapter or title to trim from the file list.
2) Click "Trim" button in the toolbar to start trimming.
3) Choose your favorite segments by pressing "play" button in the new toolbar.
4) Click "start" button and "end" button to set start and end point.
5) Finish clipping process through pressing "OK" button.


Tip: How to reset video segments?
In order to get proper video segments, click "Reset" button to reset start and end point.
